Martinlaakso School is a comprehensive school for grades 1–9 with about 1,000 students and 130 adults. We operate in a modern building with up-to-date teaching tools. Our goal is to be a pedagogically unified basic school where learners of different ages meet naturally. S2 teaching for lower grades is handled by a two-teacher team, one of whom is now being recruited. You will work with an experienced colleague. We develop our operational culture according to the ProKoulu model, which means common goals and consistent ways of guiding student behavior through positive feedback. We require commitment to this model. We hope for expertise in: - Differentiation and S2 pedagogy: functional language learning, early literacy, and individual support. - Management of S2 learning paths and assessment: goals, monitoring, and documentation of progress. - Language-aware methods in different subjects and cooperation with classroom teachers and preparatory teaching. - Safe and clear group management: student-oriented, firm and calm approach, and support for emotional and interaction skills. - Readiness for flexible organization of teaching: simultaneous teaching, small groups, individual goals, and knowledge of support processes. Teaching takes place primarily in lower grade groups. Based on the number of S2 students, qualified teaching staff may be paid a salary supplement of approx. 250€/month. Interviews may start during the application period.
