Mäntsälä Adult Education Centre was founded in 1966. It is a free educational institution operating in the areas of Mäntsälä, Pukkila, and Pornainen. Our study program includes courses of various lengths from different subject areas. We organize basic art education for children, youth, and adults. We provide commissioned training according to demand. The staff includes a principal, two office secretaries, four full-time teachers, an evening supervisor, and fixed-term hourly teachers each academic year. We organize approximately 2,300 hours of sports and wellbeing courses annually. In the 2025-2026 academic year, about 29 teachers lead these courses at various sites in Mäntsälä and Pornainen. Our selection includes muscle toning, kettlebells, pilates, dance classes, several types of yoga, light exercise for seniors, body maintenance, adult-baby exercise, children's sports and dance groups, gym groups, and asahi. When a teacher falls ill, we always strive primarily to find a substitute. Therefore, register for our substitute register: tell us about your educational background and the range of classes you lead. Once approved for the register and after marking your availability, you will receive text message offers for shifts that match your suitable times. Grab the gig by replying to the message, and practical arrangements such as keys and equipment will be agreed upon thereafter. The need for substitutes often arises on short notice, even on the same day. Payment is according to OVTES depending on the level of education: 28.43-34.71 € / lesson (45 min). Travel cost reimbursement starting 1.1.2026 is 0.55 € / km, with a deductible of 6 km / direction.
