We are looking for courageous people to build infrastructure with us responsibly and with impact – show us your courage! We are now looking for testers for light rail projects in the Helsinki metropolitan area! You will work on varied tasks ranging from installing new equipment to maintenance in tram and metro operations. A systematic and well-planned approach, and the ability to keep the overall picture under control even when situations change, will help you succeed in the role. Your duties include: - Testing and commissioning tasks at 110/20 kV, 110/30 kV and below-1-kV voltage levels using components from different manufacturers. - Testing protection relays at substations, wind farms and in railway environments. - Commissioning, configuring protection relays, periodic testing and troubleshooting. - Preparing and carrying out relay protection commissioning at worksites. - Checking the technical parameters of protection devices, ensuring their correctness and configuring them. - Reporting and troubleshooting any problems that may arise during commissioning. Your primary work area is the Helsinki metropolitan area, but we hope you are also able to travel for work. The work is mainly during daytime, but by separate agreement it may be scheduled for evenings or weekends. What do we expect from you? - An engineering degree in electrical engineering or automation, and strong technical skills. - Experience with configuration tools such as PCM600, DIGSI, VAMPSET or equivalent tools, as well as testing tools such as Omicron or Sverker. - Experience in railway electrification or light rail. - Knowledge of substation remote-control systems, HMI and protection relay equipment. - Fluency in Finnish and English. - Readiness to travel. - Previous commissioning experience with substations, power plants or similar industrial facilities is an advantage. You must pass an occupational health examination at the beginning of employment; we will arrange this for the selected person. With the applicant’s consent, a basic security clearance may be carried out for the person selected for the role. More information about the procedure and the rights of the subject of the clearance is available via the linked page. We reward good work and also offer comprehensive ePassi employee benefits. Interested? Please submit your application through our recruitment system by 25 October 2026. For further information about the role, contact Project Manager Juha Rasinmäki by email at juha.rasinmaki@nrcgroup.fi or by phone at 0405490509. The recruitment process will proceed by contacting applicants selected for interviews no later than the beginning of week 44.
