Social Care Worker

We are looking for a peer facilitator for a fixed-term position from 1 September 2026 to 31 January 2027. Welcome to the Havukoski and Koivukyla areas! Vamos Vantaa participates in the Good Everyday Builders program, which provides support and services to residents in Koivukylä. Vamos workers engage with youths aged 15–29 who need help with everyday life and future planning. Vantaa is the most multicultural city in Finland, and residents come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We are seeking a part-time team member with language and cultural skills in languages such as Russian, Albanian, Ukrainian, Arabic, or Tigrinya. In addition, sufficient Finnish or English language skills are required to work effectively in the team. Peer facilitator responsibilities include leading locally relevant group activities on topics such as job searching, functioning in Finnish society, studying in Finland, and financial and housing skills. You will also create and maintain native-language communications and collaborate with residents and partners in the area. You will plan and implement activities with colleagues, and use your own skills and experiences (e.g., hobbies, educational background) in the role. We expect: a secondary school qualification (lukio or vocational), sociability, courage, ability to work independently, experience in guiding groups or organizing events, accuracy and reliability, adequate English or Finnish proficiency and fluent in another language (e.g., Arabic, Albanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Tigrinya), familiarity with Koivukylä and Vantaa is an advantage. We require a criminal record extract per the 504/2002 act. Our workplace is smoke-free and alcohol-free. We offer a fixed-term role from 1 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, about 3–5 hours per week, roughly 16 hours per month, with possible commitment on specific weekdays. Work is mainly after 16:00, suitable for students. Hourly pay is 15.5 €/h with terms under the private social services sector collective agreement, plus a dedicated orientation and a planned hospitality-oriented onboarding.
