Do you make technology truly useful? Meitä helps municipalities, cities and welfare regions to do more with less. We have launched a new Technology and Consulting Services unit whose mission is to harness new technologies to raise productivity and streamline everyday life. We are seeking a solution architect who can combine artificial intelligence, automation and business needs—and take ideas into practical implementation. Your work will directly impact the everyday lives of Finnish municipalities and welfare regions and the prudent use of public funds. As the unit is new, you will also influence how this work is done at Meita now and in the future. In-house work lets you perform long-term development without jumping from project to project or sales pressure. In this role you are not only a technical expert but an influencer who: understands the overall picture of service production and proactively identifies development opportunities; studies new technologies and their possibilities; recognizes where technology brings real benefits in tasks and processes; helps customers and internal teams understand what to change and why; leads development from ideas to concrete implementation. New technologies are not a hype for us; we want to reduce manual repetitive work, streamline customer service, ICT service production and HR/finance processes, enable better decision-making and situational awareness, and achieve real savings. Your task as a solution architect is to be a bridge between technology opportunities and real needs. AI and automation are our spearheads. You design and guide solutions that utilize generative AI, AI agents, automation and integrations. You will assess when AI adds value and when a simpler solution is better. You have a strong technical background and think about solutions from an enterprise-architecture perspective, taking into account security, data protection, maintainability and cost efficiency. You have a consultative and influential approach; you discuss with customers and internal teams about their daily operations and development needs, and you can explain complex technology to experts from different domains and to top management. You have a sales-minded approach in the Meita way; you influence by explaining and inspiring and help new operating models take root. You participate in creating the operating models, offerings and culture of the new unit from the outset. Who is this for? You have experience in solution or enterprise architecture; you have demonstrable AI and/or automation solutions in practice; you can connect technology to business and process benefits; you have good interpersonal and presentation skills; you are excited to work in the public sector; technical background is important but ability to explain technology clearly is equally important. Your workplace is either Joensuu, Lappeenranta or Mikkeli. We also offer partial remote work. This is a permanent position.
