School Assistant

We are looking for a motivated person to perform the duties of a school assistant in the community-oriented and professional team of Strömbergin Primary School. Are you interested in working in a close-service special class and in the afternoon activities for children with intellectual disabilities? As a school assistant, your goal is to guide and support the learner in different stages of the school attendance and learning process. Good proficiency in Finnish is essential. In the close-service special class, students have challenges in concentration and transition situations. Situations can change, and flexibility and firmness are important characteristics of the guide. We value a positive work attitude. Students' school attendance is also supported by integrating them into classes of their own age group as part of the school day with the guide's support. For the afternoon activity, the guide moves to be a guide for the afternoon activity of students with intellectual disabilities. This work is care-oriented and outdoor-oriented. Strömbergin school is Finland's only municipal Freinet school, community pedagogy and strong functionality. The experience of well-being at work and inclusion is top-notch. Your working hours as a school assistant are 38 h 15 min per week. Base salary 2515.05 €/month, when the working time is 38.25 h/week. Eligibility requirement: The eligibility requirement is a vocational qualification in school attendance and morning and afternoon activity guidance, a vocational qualification of a school assistant or other suitable qualification. In addition, the position requires good oral and written proficiency in Finnish. The person appointed to the position must provide a criminal record extract concerning those working with children as intended by the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). Experience in similar work is considered an advantage.
