Vocational Teacher

We are seeking an hourly teacher in the security field for a permanent position at Esedu. The teacher will be responsible for the daily instruction in the security field based on their own expertise. Key duties include teaching and guidance for security field degree programs, guard and security officer training, as well as the planning and teaching of other work-life based security training. We train both young students subject to compulsory education and adult students. The role may also involve work in development projects and for the subsidiary Kasvuesedu. In your work, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and assessment of teaching in cooperation with other teaching staff. In this position, you will teach and guide future professionals in the field at the educational institution, online, and in other learning environments. We expect the applicant to have a guiding and developmental approach to work and experience working with young people. You will pilot students toward working life and further studies. In addition to teaching and guidance, your work may include, for example, duties as a responsible instructor, guidance for workplace learning, and work-life cooperation with companies. The selected person is required to have versatile experience in security field tasks. We require particularly strong practical professional skills in security tasks and knowledge of legislation related to the security field. We expect the applicant to be interested in working in versatile and potentially challenging tasks in teaching, guidance, and the development of teaching. We require good cooperation and interaction skills, the ability to work independently, and ICT skills. We also value a customer-oriented approach, a willingness to learn, organizational skills, and a positive attitude toward development. The qualification required for the position is the qualification of a vocational teacher in accordance with § 13 of the Decree on the Qualification Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/1998). The position requires particularly strong or specialized practical professional skills, and therefore those who have completed a specialist vocational qualification will also be considered qualified. For these individuals, at least five years of practical work experience is required. In the absence of applicants meeting the qualification requirements, a person who does not meet the requirements may be appointed on a fixed-term basis. As an organizer of preparatory training for guard and security officer training, the employer has the right, according to Section 108 of Act 1085/2015, to request a limited security clearance as defined in the Security Clearance Act (726/2014) from the applicant for the teacher position. Remuneration is according to OTES. The salary consists of a position-specific salary and a possible annual increment. We apply a 6-month probationary period at the start of the employment.
