About the role

We are seeking a Researcher Training Specialist for the University of Lapland, starting 1.10.2026. The Lapland University Consortium (LUC) is a nationally and internationally leading actor and pioneer in Arctic research and expertise. Our strategic choices are global Arctic responsibility, sustainable tourism, and future services and distance management. Approximately 10,000 students study and about 1,100 employees work within the Lapland University Consortium, consisting of the University of Lapland and the Lapland University of Applied Sciences. The higher education institutions have locations in Kemi, Rovaniemi, and Tornio. The specialist's employment relationship is with the University of Lapland, and the workstation is at the Rovaniemi campus. Your tasks The role of the Researcher Training Specialist is to support and develop the university's researcher training and services together with the Vice Rector for Research, in accordance with the university's research development plan. The specialist's primary area of responsibility is the development of researcher training pedagogy and the coordination of researcher training development projects. The duties also include tasks related to the operational implementation of researcher training (e.g., planning and organizing researcher training teaching and coordinating the layout and printing process of doctoral theses). Additionally, the specialist actively collaborates with domestic and international networks and represents the university in national and international working groups related to the development of researcher training, based on a separately agreed division of labor. Tasks are carried out in cooperation with the other specialist of the researcher school, the researcher school's management team, faculties, and other key stakeholders. The position-specific salary component is determined based on the demand level 10 for other specialist and support staff of the Sivista general collective agreement for universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal performance is paid, up to 50%.
