The role involves working in a multi-professional team to provide comprehensive rehabilitation and assessment at home to support independence for clients. Duties include basic patient care, nursing and medical treatment, supporting rehabilitation, medication administration, monitoring and keeping up to date, acting as the medication supervisor and receiving test results, assessing patient functional abilities and planning care, being responsible for the unit’s nursing work, consulting with physicians, documenting nursing work, discharging patients and related planning, palliative care, guiding patients and relatives, orienting new staff and supervising students, as well as other tasks assigned by a supervisor. You are expected to be able to solve problems independently and have organizational skills, apply given guidelines and prioritize tasks. You should have good interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to different customer service situations. The job requires commitment to a customer-oriented and rehabilitative approach. The Arvi unit is a short-term social services unit serving elderly people at home. The unit currently has 30 client places and employs 4 registered nurses, 17 practical nurses and a physiotherapist. Conditions of employment and pay are determined by the SOTE collective agreement. A six-month trial period applies. Eligibility requires a degree in social and health care or a previous vocational qualification, and licensure under the Health Care Professionals Act (559/1994). Professional competence must be verifiable (Valvira). Applicants must present a police record extract regarding criminal background with respect to working with the elderly (741/2023 28§).
