The City of Orimattila is seeking a fixed-term hourly teacher for basic education and upper secondary school from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, or later by agreement if necessary. The subject to be taught is music. Teaching is organized into five periods. The average teaching load is 18 weekly hours in basic education and 5 weekly hours in upper secondary school. The position includes music performances, which are compensated separately for both school levels. The role also includes duties as a class teacher, for which 1.3 hours (opv 18) are compensated. Consequently, the salary basis is 20.3 weekly hours in basic education and 6.25 weekly hours in upper secondary school. Additionally, approximately €60/month is paid for the maintenance of equipment. Erko Joint School (formerly Orimattila Joint School and Erkko Upper Secondary School) consists of a lower secondary school of approximately 430 students and an upper secondary school of 160 students for the 2026-2027 academic year. In our school, students are supported by subject teachers, student counselors, a study counselor, special education teachers, school assistants, a curator, and a youth worker. The school also has five special education classes and a JOPO class. We expect the selected candidate to have the ability and willingness to engage in constructive cooperation with other teachers and school assistants. Good cooperation and interaction skills are essential for the successful performance of the duties. Eligibility requirements for the position are determined in accordance with the Decree on the Eligibility Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/98). Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to OVTES. Before the appointment is confirmed, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 no later than 30 days after receiving notification of the selection decision. The position is subject to a two-month probationary period. Interviews may be arranged during the application period. Due to the exceptional urgency of filling the position based on the nature of operations, the selection may be made and the application process terminated before the deadline if a qualified candidate is found.
