Welcome to work at the Koskela Senior Center service center! The operation of the City of Helsinki's service centers is intended for Helsinki retirees and unemployed people. The service center is an open meeting place that supports living at home, promotes well-being and alleviates experiences of loneliness. Activities and services are generally free for customers. We are looking for a motivated physiotherapist for our work community who enjoys working with elderly people. As a physiotherapist in the service center, you will need good interaction skills and a desire to develop our operations. The work is independent, although you work together with another physiotherapist as part of a multidisciplinary team. Both an independent work approach and good teamwork skills are important. In addition to physiotherapist services, the customer receives service guidance and counseling from a social instructor at the service center. The customer can participate in peer-supported group activities, hobby activities, various events or act as a volunteer. The physiotherapist's job description in the service center includes, among other things, physiotherapy and exercise counseling, planning and guidance of exercise and gym groups, as well as multidisciplinary cooperation and development. In your work, you will also need good IT skills. Guidance and group instruction should be successful in Finnish. Swedish language skills are considered an advantage. Koskela Senior Center and the Service Center operating under it belong to the City of Helsinki's social, health and rescue sector. We also have a lot of joint activities with the 24-hour units of the Koskela Senior Center. The position requires legalization in Finland according to the Act on Health Care Professionals 559/1994. Language requirement is good oral and satisfactory written skill in Finnish. Before the selection decision, the applicant must present an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the tasks involved in the work. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55. The position requires the presentation of a criminal record extract for those working with elderly people (Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care 741/2023, Section 28). Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
