Practical Nurse

We are offering a versatile substitute position until the end of 2026 in an interesting specialized medical care environment. Your Role At the neurosurgery ward, we treat patients arriving both by appointment and through emergency services. Our patient groups include, among others, patients with cerebral hemorrhage, brain injuries, and brain tumors, as well as patients requiring surgical treatment for the spinal column. Nearly half of our patients arrive via the emergency department. The ward has 24 patient beds, six of which are enhanced monitoring beds (TESE). The work is varied, responsible, and occasionally fast-paced. As a practical nurse, you will participate in the holistic care of neurosurgical patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will work with your colleagues in a pair or group work model. Your duties include: - basic patient care, wound care, and monitoring of patient condition - implementing medication therapy according to your competence - implementing a rehabilitative approach and supporting patient recovery - cooperation with patients, their loved ones, and different professional groups - ensuring safe and high-quality care - documenting and reporting nursing work. The work is in three-shift rotation. You can influence your own shifts through collaborative shift planning. What we offer you? We value good Swedish language skills, experience in specialized medical care, and experience in caring for neurological or neurosurgical patients. However, we also consider applicants at the beginning of their careers. The eligibility requirement is a vocational qualification in social and health care (practical nurse) or a previous school-level degree in the field. The work requires good Finnish language skills; good Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
