Job Description
The City of Lapua is seeking a PROJECT MANAGER for the Mun polku project for a fixed-term employment period from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028. The ESR+ project, "Mun polku - paths to employment for young people," supports the transition of young people under 30 into working life, education, or entrepreneurship in the Lapua region. The project manager's role focuses on the operational management of the project, the development of a multidisciplinary operating model, and the coordination of an extensive cooperation network. The applicant must be able to simultaneously handle the development of the project, practical implementation, network cooperation, and administrative obligations. The role includes both strategic development work and practical client guidance for young people. The key responsibilities consist of the following areas: - operational management of the project, scheduling, coordination, and monitoring of goals - building, piloting, evaluating, and documenting the operating model - documenting project results and transitions, and responsibility for the quality of data collection for the funder's monitoring systems - cooperation with companies and employers, including contacting companies, negotiating letters of intent, and mapping out work and apprenticeship placements - cooperation with educational institutions, employment services, and other stakeholders - individual coaching and service guidance for young people - planning and coordinating project communications together with the project worker - project administration, EURA 2021 reporting, and preparation and secretarial duties for the steering group - preparing the embedding of the operating model in cooperation with stakeholders. For this position, we require a suitable university degree or, alternatively, strong and diverse experience in similar development and coordination tasks. Additionally, an independent work style, ability to cooperate, and practical development skills are considered an advantage. We value the following in the selected person: - experience in projects and the coordination of development projects - ability to lead multidisciplinary network cooperation - experience or good knowledge of project work and reporting practices - strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills - expertise in services for young people, guidance, and the promotion of employment. The fixed-term position is available starting September 1, 2026, or by agreement. Remuneration is determined according to KVTES. The position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Selection is conditional and will be confirmed once the selected person has provided an acceptable health certificate.
