We are currently seeking a Leading Social Worker for the Social Work and Guidance unit of Disability Services, Team 2 (Salo-Paimio), for a permanent official position starting September 1, 2026, or by agreement. Your Role As a Leading Social Worker, you will serve as a leading official of social welfare in Team 2 and be responsible for the management of your unit's personnel, line management, and the development of staff competence. You will ensure the orientation of new employees and students and support staff in their daily client work. You will be responsible for the operational activities of the social work and guidance team and ensure the legality, smoothness, and quality of operations. In your work, you will consider the constraints of personnel management and finance and support staff in demanding client situations. Together with the Disability Services Manager, you will participate in the planning, development, harmonization, instruction, monitoring, and communication of your service entity. Additionally, you will coordinate services cross-organizationally in cooperation with key partners and networks. You will actively develop multidisciplinary cooperation with clients, relatives, authorities, and other actors to ensure the implementation of services tailored to clients' needs. The job offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the implementation and development of the Act on Disability Services. The role is versatile, independent, and impactful, combining supervisory work, expertise, and service development. You will work both remotely and in local offices. Your workplace is located in either Paimio (Naskarla) or Salo, by agreement. The position offers the possibility of partial remote work and flexible working hours to support work-life balance. What We Offer The Social Work and Guidance unit of Disability Services was established at the beginning of 2025. The unit consists of six teams, where leading social workers serve as supervisors. You will become part of a close-knit, active, reflective, and ethically working management group committed to developing and harmonizing services for persons with disabilities within the wellbeing services county. You will be supported by another leading social worker as a peer, your own team, and your supervisor. Additionally, weekly team meetings, regular supervision, and development days are available. What We Expect From You We expect experience in supervisory and management work within a social and healthcare environment. Success in this role requires the ability to make independent decisions, act in demanding situations, and support staff in stressful client and work situations. We value the ability to reflect on your own management work, continuously develop your skills, and promote the functioning of the work community responsibly. To succeed in the role, you need: - Good supervisory and management skills - Strong knowledge of social welfare legislation - Ability for independent decision-making - Excellent interaction and cooperation skills in a multidisciplinary environment. Previous experience in disability work and the application practices of the Act on Disability Services is valued. A driver's license and the possibility of using your own car for work are considered an advantage. Eligibility requirement: Qualification as a social worker in accordance with Section 7 of the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015). Language requirements: good oral and written skills in Finnish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Swedish. Interested?
