
Welding Supervisor
Welding Supervisor · On-Site Location: Nordenham, Germany Contract Length: Approx. 2 Months Rate: Competitive Day Rate Shifts: Rotating Early, Late & Night Shifts | Weekend Work Required The Opportunity: G2 are currently looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor with strong Submerged Arc Welding (SAW/UP Welding) expertise for a contract opportunity based in Germany. This role will focus on supporting welding quality improvement initiatives, defect investigation activities, repair supervision and process optimisation within a heavy fabrication environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing welding defects, improving quality standards and supporting production teams on site. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and assess Submerged Arc Welding (SAW/UP Welding) operations Oversee welding repairs and defect investigation activities Conduct root cause analysis of welding-related quality issues Perform visual inspections of welds and fabricated components Verify weld preparation, welding sequences and pre-heating procedures Ensure compliance with approved welding procedures and parameters Review and maintain welding documentation and records Produce detailed repair and inspection reports Plan and oversee corrective and preventative actions Drive continuous improvement across welding operations Monitor welding consumables, equipment and tooling Provide technical support and guidance to production teams Support and train welding personnel where required Ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality standards Candidate Requirements: Essential Proven experience within Submerged Arc Welding (SAW/UP Welding) environments Previous experience as a Welding Supervisor Strong understanding of welding quality control and inspection processes Extensive knowledge of welding defects, repair techniques and root cause analysis Technical apprenticeship, vocational training or equivalent qualification Excellent understanding of welding procedures and fabrication standards Ability to work independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends Desirable Welding Specialist, Welding Technician or Welding Engineer qualification Experience within heavy fabrication, offshore structures, renewables or steel manufacturing Strong reporting and documentation skills Good IT skills and communication abilities What We're Looking For: Submerged Arc Welding (SAW/UP Welding) Welding supervision Weld quality inspection Defect identification and root cause analysis Welding repair management Manufacturing process improvement If you are interested in this role, apply below or send your CV to contact@g2recruitment.com
