Job Description
We are seeking an early childhood care worker for a fixed-term employment contract in the City of Kajaani's early childhood education and care at Teppana Day Care Centre for the period 1.9.2026 - 31.3.2027. The motto of Teppana Day Care Centre is "For the children at every moment of the day". In the open position, work takes place Monday to Sunday between 5:00 and 22:30. As an early childhood care worker, you will work in a children's group as part of an educator team and implement activities according to the early childhood education and care plan/pre-primary education plan. You will be responsible for implementing sensitive care and education, as well as promoting growth, development, and learning appropriate to the child's age and developmental level. In your duties, you will ensure the implementation of child-specific support and participate in multidisciplinary cooperation. You will participate in the planning and implementation of activities together with early childhood education teachers, social workers, special education teachers, and other early childhood education staff. In your work, you will promote activities in the best interest of the child, strengthening children's equality, equity, safety, and holistic well-being. The position is fixed-term from 1.9.2026 to 31.3.2027. Remuneration is determined in accordance with the municipal general government and employee agreement (KVTES). The starting salary for an early childhood care worker at Teppana Day Care Centre is €2,797.46/month + possible bonuses. The eligibility requirement is the qualification of a child care worker according to Section 28 of the Early Childhood Education and Care Act 540/2018. Certificates proving eligibility will be checked during a potential interview. The probationary period is half the duration of the employment relationship. In filling the position, priority will be given to terminated and part-time employees of the City of Kajaani, provided they meet the eligibility requirements for the position.
