Personal Assistant

I am looking for a personal assistant to support me with studies, leisure, and daily tasks. I am Santeri Ala-Röyskö, 28, living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and using a wheelchair. I study political science at the University of Tampere and plan to start writing my bachelor’s thesis this autumn. I enjoy politics and NGO work, and I occasionally attend student events and concerts. Work time is roughly 60–120 hours per month, mainly weekdays in the morning, late morning, and afternoon. Sometimes evening, night, and weekend shifts are needed. The contract can be permanent or fixed-term with a 3-month trial. Pay is 13.73 €/h plus a experience allowance. I am a member of the Heta union. The job could start immediately or later by agreement. Tasks include giving and moving items, opening doors, helping over thresholds and stairs, assisting with transfers (I weigh about 60 kg when lifted). I also need help with dressing/undressing, some days helping with wheel­chair pushing, helping with meals and utensils, and occasional assistance with hygiene. I may need help with physiotherapy and pool therapy, including lifting on mats and assisting with clothing in pool therapy. The role mainly takes place in Pirkkala and Tampere. The person should be reliable, proactive, and have a positive attitude and daily living skills. A health and social care background is an asset but not required.
