Practical Nurse

We are looking for two practical nurses for permanent positions in intensive disability services at the Care, Research and Rehabilitation Unit for Intellectual Disabilities, better known as Laku. At Laku, you will primarily work with children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities and developmental delays. Our unit provides research, care, and rehabilitation services, as well as short-term research and rehabilitation periods for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to provide high-quality and individualized care that supports our clients' quality of life and functional capacity. Your Role In this position, you will be responsible for the holistic basic care and medication administration of clients in accordance with care plans. Your work also includes medical nursing, planning, organizing, and reporting of nursing care, as well as maintaining and promoting clients' participation and right to self-determination. You will work closely with relatives and various partners and participate in the guidance of students. At Laku, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in rare diseases and learn about the care, monitoring, and equipment for respiratory diseases and respiratory failure. In your work, you will develop your practical skills, become familiar with various assistive devices, and learn demanding specialized skills. You will work in a humorous, community-oriented, and multidisciplinary work community. Laku is located in Paimio, adjacent to excellent outdoor areas near the center of Paimio. Eligibility requirements include a vocational qualification in social and health care (practical nurse) or a previous school-level degree in the field, as well as registration with the Licensing and Supervision Authority (Valvira).
