Job Description

We are seeking an early childhood education teacher for a permanent position starting August 1, 2026, to provide quality early childhood education and preschool education. In Kempele's early childhood education, the well-being and encounters of children and families in daily life are important. We actively develop the pedagogy and quality of our early childhood education. Our development work is guided by early childhood education and preschool curricula and the Kempele municipal strategy's Good Growth program, which emphasizes bullying prevention and intervention as well as play pedagogy. To support staff expertise, we organize additional training and actively develop work well-being. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and pedagogy with enthusiastic professionals. We utilize the VALSSI early childhood education quality assessment system to support quality development. The focus area of pedagogical development is Play. As an early childhood education teacher, we expect from you: - Skilled pedagogical competence - Sensitive interaction with children - Play pedagogy expertise - Team leadership skills - Good teamwork and interaction skills - Readiness to utilize digital tools - Courage to try new things, develop, and face challenges. It is important to us that each child is met individually. We value skills in emotional and interaction methods, small group pedagogy as a working method, and play pedagogy expertise. An preschool education qualification is considered an advantage. The eligibility requirements for an early childhood education teacher are determined according to the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) sections 26 or 27 and transitional provisions sections 75. The selected candidate must submit a criminal record extract according to law 504/2002 before starting employment and present an acceptable medical certificate of health. We observe a six (6) month probation period. Employment terms are based on OVTES section G. The salary starts at €2,966.77/month. The salary will be adjusted based on the complexity of the task. Additionally, OVTES section G provides for KM allowance and qualification allowance, as well as Kempele's own KM allowance of €70/month. Experience-based experience allowance of 3% or 8% is also paid.
