We are now looking for a social worker for an instructor position in our pleasant and home-like child welfare unit, Jokela Validia-koti.** We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic, committed, and ready to grow as part of our professional and warm-hearted team. Jokela Validia-koti is a 6-place unit providing demanding foster care for children over 12 years old with severe psychological symptoms. We provide a home-like, safe, and caring environment where work is based on therapeutic institutional education, individual guidance, and a socio-pedagogical orientation. As an instructor, you will operate as part of a structured daily routine, building a safe, predictable, and communal environment for the children. You will serve as the designated individual instructor for children, and your work will be guided by the child's individual care and education plan. Our special expertise relates to severe psychological symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and self-destructiveness. In everyday life, we support the development of children's emotional skills through, among other things, verbalizing emotions and practicing safe ways of acting. The home's structured daily routine includes regular meals and outdoor activities, as well as time spent together both individually and communally. The work involves situations that require the adult to be confident, persistent, and able to support the child even when daily life is heavily taxing for them. Emphasis is placed on supporting the holistic growth and development of the children. In addition to practicing emotional skills, this includes maintaining an adult-led daily routine and home care tasks as part of the shared everyday life. The work is primarily two-shift work, including on-call duties. We hope you have experience in child welfare work and a readiness to face demanding situations calmly and in a way that strengthens safety. We value understanding of neuropsychology, attachment, and trauma acquired through education and experience. Studies in medication therapy (5 ECTS credits) and valid medication permits, or the readiness to complete them at the start of employment, are considered an advantage.
