About the role We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to support Verda’s legal and regulatory function as we scale. You’ll work across a broad range of legal areas, with a particular focus on supporting a fast-growing technology business operating at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and data. This is a hands-on role in a scale-up environment, where you’ll collaborate closely with technical, commercial, and compliance teams to provide pragmatic legal guidance and help shape our legal foundations in a global, multi-jurisdictional context. You will play a key role in enabling Verda’s growth, including supporting corporate global expansion. Your responsibilities - Provide legal support across key business areas, including commercial agreements, partnerships, employment, and vendor relationships - Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including NDAs, SaaS, infrastructure, and technology-related agreements - Support corporate legal matters, including governance, structuring, and internal documentation - Support and advise on corporate expansion activities, including entry into new markets and jurisdictional setup considerations - Assist in fundraising and M&A activities, including due diligence, transaction support, and coordination with external counsel - Support legal aspects of supply chain and procurement operations, including vendor terms, risk allocation, and commercial structuring - Advise on intellectual property matters, including protection, licensing, and risk assessment - Monitor and interpret relevant regulatory developments across Finland, the EU, and other relevant jurisdictions, particularly in AI, data protection, and digital infrastructure - Support compliance with applicable regulations such as GDPR, AI Act, and other emerging frameworks - Work closely with compliance, security, and product teams to ensure legal considerations are embedded in operations and product development - Assist in developing internal legal guidelines, templates, and training materials - Support external counsel coordination across different jurisdictions where needed Your key competencies - OTM/LLM or equivalent degree from an accredited law program - 2+ years of relevant legal experience (law firm or in-house) - Strong working knowledge of commercial contracting, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements (e.g., NDAs, SaaS, technology contracts) - Ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal), with the ability to translate legal complexity into actionable guidance - High level of ownership, ethical judgment, and professionalism - Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical, product, and commercial teams - Ability to operate in a multi-jurisdictional context, including knowing when to escalate to external counsel Nice-to-haves - Experience a technology, infrastructure, or high-growth company environment - Expertise in one or more of: Intellectual Property (IP), Corporate law, and/or AI / emerging technology regulation - Privacy and data protection - Exposure to M&A transactions, fundraising, or corporate structuring - Experience supporting international expansion or cross-border operations - Familiarity with EU AI Act and other digital regulations - Prior experience working with external counsel across jurisdictions Practicalities - Location: Helsinki - Working mode: Hybrid, 3 days a week from the office. - Start date: As soon as possible - Employment type: Full-time and permanent

Requirements
- OTM/LLM or equivalent degree from an accredited law program
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience (law firm or in-house)
- Strong working knowledge of commercial contracting, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements (e.g., NDAs, SaaS, technology contracts)
- Ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- High level of ownership, ethical judgment, and professionalism
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical, product, and commercial teams
- Ability to operate in a multi-jurisdictional context
