Job Description

We are looking for an **Application Scientist** to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for conducting research, experiments, and validations using the company's phage-biosensor method to detect the early stage of diseases from non-invasive samples (saliva, urine). **A key part of this role involves active participation and engagement in our China projects.** Your research topics will mainly cover our phage-biosensor development based on bacteriophage constructs. The work will include developing biosensors towards different disease biomarkers related to cancers, neurological disorders and infectious diseases, performing sample preparation, and analyzing bioassays. The work includes the development of _in-vitro_ evolution processes of phages, and complementary tests using traditional methods with external collaborators. Your duties also consist of documentation, drafting scientific publications, and collaboration with our clinical partners. **What We Expect From You:** - **Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is a strict requirement for this role.** - **Willingness and capability to travel** (essential for overseas project collaboration). - M.Sc in biochemistry, biotechnology, systems biology, or a related discipline. - Proficiency and interest to work hands-on in laboratory with a genuine interest on capabilities of biotech and phage-biosensors - Preparation and measurement of clinical samples (such as saliva, urine, blood). - Good communication skills, a proactive attitude, and problem-solving capabilities are essential to succeed in this position. - Fluency in English. **It Would Be a Distinct Advantage If You Also Have:** - An understanding of biomarkers and their use in medical diagnoses. - An interest in different diseases, such as cancers, infectious- or neurological diseases. - Capability to adopt new methods, technologies, and measurement devices. - Experience from project management.
