Specialist Physician

We are seeking a specialist physician for a permanent position in the surgical line of the HUS Obstetrics and Gynecology division. The surgical line of the HUS Obstetrics and Gynecology (HUS-NaiS) division operates Finland's largest gynecological surgical unit, performing nearly 6,000 surgical procedures annually. Our operations are guided by patient-centricity, high-quality care based on evidence-based knowledge, teamwork among top professionals and community spirit, as well as cost-effective Lean thinking. The position is a clinical specialist physician role within the surgical line of the obstetrics and gynecology division. The role includes benign gynecological surgical activity as well as related ward and outpatient clinic activities. The position requires a willingness to work broadly across different operational and placement points of the surgical line. The selected candidate is expected to have familiarity with and interest in gynecological emergency and surgical operations, diagnostics, and their development. The position requires good cooperation skills and flexibility among different professional groups, as well as a positive attitude toward change. The position includes on-call duties. Work begins on September 28, 2026, or by agreement. The position-specific salary is €6,443.01/month, plus possible experience and other supplements. Apply by the end of the application period. Eligibility requirements Specialist qualification in a suitable specialty, a Doctor of Medicine degree, and additionally, a licensed physician or a permit to practice as a physician. Language requirements: good oral and written skills in Finnish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Swedish, or good oral and written skills in Swedish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Finnish. We require vaccination protection in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in customer and patient areas, and a health status report on pulmonary tuberculosis for those working in healthcare operational units.
