About the role

We are looking for a social worker for the Ruusula opioid substitution treatment clinic in the Helsinki metropolitan area! We are primarily seeking a social worker with a background as a practical nurse. We also consider social workers with supplementary training in medication management and/or experience in implementing medication treatment. The role focuses on service guidance as well as the implementation of community- and group-based psychosocial rehabilitation and psychosocial support. The work may also include implementing medication treatment as a partner to a registered nurse. We value a proactive approach, good interaction skills, and an interest in working to promote patients' well-being and inclusion. We hope that the selected person can start in the position in September-October 2026. What kind of services do we offer patients? - Community and group activities: peer support and shared activities - Individual conversational support: unhurried encounters and accompaniment - Help with everyday matters: housing, benefits, and healthcare - Opioid substitution treatment safely and systematically Our way of operating We meet the patient as a whole person, and treatment is always planned together with the patient. An individual and flexible treatment plan is created for each patient, which may include conversational support, group activities, medication treatment, service guidance, and preparation for transitions to other services. Our multidisciplinary team consists of registered nurses, a social worker, and a doctor. Valid medication permits (LOP and medication calculation) are considered an advantage. Experience in mental health and substance abuse work is considered an advantage.
