Specialist

The Department for Rescue Services of the Ministry of the Interior leads, directs, and supervises rescue services with the goal of achieving a strong safety culture and an efficient rescue services system. The Ministry of the Interior also coordinates the activities of different ministries and sectors in rescue services and their development, and manages national arrangements and preparations for rescue services. Additionally, the Department for Rescue Services decides on the provision of rescue assistance abroad and the requesting of international aid, and is responsible for the EU and international cooperation within the department's field. The Rescue Services Unit is specifically responsible for tasks related to accident prevention and rescue operations, international rescue services matters, rescue services information management, and the Ministry of the Interior's national rescue services situation and command center. The primary task of the Specialist is to coordinate the delivery of civilian material aid from Finland to Ukraine through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The role involves cooperation with the European Commission's Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC), material aid donors, and Ukrainian authorities. The work also includes tasks related to the procurement of material aid and diverse communication tasks. Additionally, the role may include tasks related to the provision of other international aid and the development of international aid processes. The position requires domestic and international travel. The fixed-term nature of the position is based on the nature of the work.
