Are you passionate about your work and have the ability to guide and support large entities? Do you have expertise in emergency planning and continuity management and can you apply this expertise to the rescue services operating environment? If you answered yes, you might be the new colleague we are looking for! A fixed-term substitute emergency planner position is located in the Helsinki Rescue Department's security of supply services, Readiness and Continuity unit for the period 1.9.2026 - 15.8.2027. The duties of the emergency planner include, among other things: • Development and maintenance of the rescue department's emergency planning, security of supply and continuity management processes. • Participation in the planning and implementation of exercises. • Planning and implementing readiness and continuity management training for the rescue department's staff, and if necessary at the city level. • Formation and maintenance of the rescue department's security situation picture. • Updating station readiness and rescue plans and coordinating 72h readiness. • The emergency planner works in close cooperation with other functions of the Readiness and Continuity unit, such as security technology and management system functions. Close cooperation is also carried out with other security of supply service units. Successful performance of the duty requires self-management skills and goal-oriented adherence to given schedules, experience in emergency planning, good interaction and presentation skills, and good IT skills. You have the ability to act quickly in rapidly changing situations and your approach to work is structured and solution-oriented. Eligibility requirements for the position: - Suitable university degree - Class B driver's license - Good oral and written Finnish language skills We consider as an advantage: - Work experience from rescue services - Work experience from emergency planning - Experience in planning and implementing training - Experience in authority cooperation in readiness and continuity management The starting date for the task is 1.9.2026 or by agreement. The task has a six-month probationary period and follows the official and collective agreement according to Appendix 7 of HYVTES. Before the start of the official relationship, you must give consent to a personal security clearance in accordance with the Security Clearance Act (726/2014). In addition, the selected person is required to undergo a drug test in accordance with the Helsinki City personnel substance abuse program. Your workplace is mainly at the Kallio fire station, but the work field covers all rescue department sites.
