Social Worker

We are seeking a social worker for family social work in a permanent position for the South Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county. The position is located within family services, specifically in the family social work and child welfare responsibility unit. The initial placement is in family social work at the Alavus Family Center, but due to an ongoing legislative and organizational reform, a transition to unified family social work and child welfare social work is possible. The position starts on October 1, 2026. Your work will be supported by experienced social worker colleagues, a social guide, responsible social workers, and a leading social worker; various consultation structures are also available to support your work as needed. Job duties include planned social work with families in accordance with the Social Welfare Act and the Child Welfare Act, supporting the well-being of children and parents, providing necessary support at different stages of client interaction, multidisciplinary cooperation, documentation, decision-making, and child protection in demanding situations. We value previous experience in similar social work, network work skills, a development-oriented approach, and both individual and teamwork skills. Eligibility requires the qualification of a Licensed Social Worker (Act on Social Care Professionals 817/2015 Section 7). In the selection process, a final-year social work student who meets the requirements of Section 12 of the Act to act temporarily in social worker positions may also be considered. The terms of employment and remuneration are determined according to the SOTE agreement. A probationary period applies to the employment relationship.
