Sine Engineering is the leading global company developing advanced radio communication and navigation systems. We are building mission-critical infrastructure for the multi-million drone era. We are looking for a hands-on UAV Pilot & Engineer to join our team in Finland. You will prepare and fly UAVs during client demonstrations, acceptance tests, and integration activities, working closely with the local Integration Manager and Ukraine-based engineering teams. This role goes beyond piloting: we expect you to analyze what happens in flight, trace issues to their root cause, and turn field observations into clear, actionable feedback for engineering. Location: Finland (on-site). Business trips: Required (international, including Ukraine). Responsibilities: Operate UAVs (fixed-wing and multirotor) during test flights, client demonstrations, and acceptance activities; Prepare systems for flight: assembly, configuration, calibration, and pre-flight inspections; Ensure UAV and equipment readiness for demos and field activities: configuration control, spares, rapid repairs; Execute customer-facing flights with strict adherence to safety standards and mission protocols; Diagnose mechanical, electronic, and software issues in lab and field conditions — identify the root cause, not just the symptom; Analyze flight logs (ground control and onboard systems) to detect anomalies, performance issues, and system limitations; build clear cause-and-effect explanations of failures; Evaluate test and demo outcomes, systematize recurring issues, and propose improvements to engineering; Tune and configure flight controllers (ArduPilot, iNav, Betaflight); integrate components such as cameras, antennas, telemetry modules, and payloads; Work with communication protocols (MAVLink, CRSF, SBUS, CAN, UART) at a practical level; Maintain documentation: test reports, checklists, issue logs, lessons learned; Communicate with engineers and technical teams in Ukraine to ensure configuration consistency and technical alignment. Skills: Experience operating UAVs; Full drone system setup experience; Hands-on configuration with ArduPilot, iNav, or Betaflight; Solid understanding of UAV systems; Strong analytical skills; Ability to troubleshoot in field; Strong safety mindset; Ability to work independently; Willingness to travel internationally, including Ukraine; Finnish — Native/Advanced; English — B2 or higher. Nice to Have: experience with both fixed-wing and multirotor; technical education in aviation/radio electronics/robotics; understanding radio principles; experience writing technical reports; experience in drone racing or SAR; client-facing demos experience. What We Offer: extensive benefits including health, wellness, travel insurance, no overtime, growth opportunities, top equipment, hackathons, etc. Privacy Notice included.
