About the role

The Senior Corporate Counsel will provide contract-focused legal counsel to senior leadership, partnering with the business to manage risk, support strategic initiatives, and navigate complex legal matters. The role supports Kraton’s corporate activities and transformation projects by delivering practical, business-oriented legal guidance. Responsibilities include advising on corporate, employment and benefits, drafting and negotiating contracts, managing disputes with internal and external stakeholders, assessing legal exposure and proposing risk-mitigating strategies, and overseeing external counsel relationships. The candidate should demonstrate critical thinking, commercial acumen, and prioritization skills, acting as a business partner balancing legal risk with commercial objectives. Interfaces include Kraton’s General Counsel, Americas-based leadership, and regional counsels. Required skills include excellent drafting, knowledge of employment and benefits laws (US focused with understanding of EU implications), strong analytical and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders. Educational requirements include a Legal master/Academic degree, 7–10 years of qualified lawyer experience, and familiarity with corporate, procurement/supply chain, and regulatory law. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 7–10 years qualified lawyer experience
  • Legal master/Academic degree
  • Experience in corporate, procurement and regulatory law
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Knowledge of employment and benefits laws (US-focused with EU implications)
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with external counsel management
