Social Worker

VAKE is seeking two family social workers to join Perhesosiaalityö, with vacancies opening 1 October 2026. The role is primarily based at the Tikkurila office but can be performed flexibly in Kerava or Myyrmäki, with potential for remote work depending on arrangements and job nature. The family social work duties include planned social work delivery and coordinating support measures for children in need, acting as the child’s primary contact, coordinating and aligning support across services, independent work, network collaboration, and close cooperation with other professionals. The position involves travel and visits often taking place as home visits or at partner institutions. Team supports include a family therapist and other professionals; urgent child protection duties are centralized to day-time duty hours. Requirements include experience with child and family welfare, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a developmental mindset. Proficiency with Apotti and systemic approaches is beneficial. The team currently comprises two social guidance workers, seven special social workers, 17 social workers, and two lead social workers across two regional teams, with about 70 employees in total at the unit.
