We are looking for a library services director for the City of Heinola to lead and develop the city library toward a new, communal and experiential operation. In this role you will be responsible for the library services overall: you will lead operations, develop services customer‑orientedly, and build the library into a versatile meeting place for residents. You will also be responsible for staff, finances and extensive collaboration with various actors. In developing the library, the focus is on promoting reading, supporting competence and providing spaces for learning, hobbies and community activities. We are seeking a development‑oriented and inspiring leader with a vision for renewing services and the ability to implement changes together with staff and networks. As Library Services Director you will lead the comprehensive management and development of Heinola’s library services, including leadership of staff and finances and developing the library into a modern, communal and diverse meeting place for residents. The role emphasizes service renewal and customer orientation, promotes reading, learning and cultural participation, and develops the library’s role as a place for everyday work, hobbies and community activities. A suitable higher education degree is required, along with studies in library and information sciences, good familiarity with public libraries, and experience in supervision and leadership. Terms of employment and salary are determined according to KVTES. Working hours are 36.25 h/week.
