About the role

We are looking for care assistants for the group homes of Kivelä Senior Center, which are Akvamariini, Ametisti, Safiiri, Topaasi, Stenäng and A-K unit Granit. The job description of a care assistant is very versatile and requires an independent working style and initiative from the employee. The work includes outdoor activities and socializing as well as participating in events with residents. In addition, the job duties include organizing hobby activities with residents, assisting tasks in the kitchen and during meals. The work also includes other assisting home care tasks. The care assistant works in the unit in morning and evening shifts including weekends. Kivelä Senior Center's 24-hour care units have moved to temporary facilities in Oulunkylä. The new address is Oltermannintie 32. (On the Kustaankartano plot). Group home Stenäng and A-K unit Granit are Swedish-speaking units. The start date of work is agreed separately. Eligibility criteria: Language skill requirement is satisfactory oral and written skill in Finnish. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55. The position requires the presentation of a criminal record extract for those working with elderly people (Act on the Supervision of Social Welfare and Health Care 741/2023, Section 28). In addition, we require: You are an unemployed job seeker from Helsinki and meet one of the following conditions: - you are 15-24 years old - you have reached 50 years of age - you have not completed a matriculation examination, a degree referred to in the Act on Vocational Education or an equivalent foreign secondary education degree - you are entitled to an integration plan referred to in the Act on the Promotion of Integration - you have not been in gainful employment during the previous six months - as an unemployed job seeker, your chances of getting a suitable job have significantly decreased due to injury or illness. At least three years must have passed since the end of the previous wage-subsidized employment relationship with the City of Helsinki before you can be employed again with a wage subsidy for the city. If you are not sure if you are eligible for a wage subsidy, check this with your employment services expert before submitting an application. We consider Swedish language skills an advantage.
