Job Description
The á la carte chef works as part of a flexible and cooperative kitchen team, contributing to preparation, service, cleanliness, food safety, and shift readiness. This role requires consistency, good communication, reliability, and the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced hotel restaurant environment. We expect you to have previous experience working in restaurants and a good understanding of kitchen workflow, mise en place, and service routines. The role supports daily kitchen operations across buffet, à la carte, and half-board services for both hotel guests and walk-in customers. As both our guests and staff are international, the working language is English. Our kitchen team is made up of people from diverse nationalities and backgrounds, bringing together a wide range of skills and knowledge. What we expect from you: - Previous professional kitchen experience in à la carte restaurant, hotel restaurant, or similar food service environment - Ability to work under pressure while maintaining standards and pace - Practical knowledge of food hygiene, safe food handling, and cleaning procedures - Good teamwork and communication skills, along with sufficient English skills - Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays - Willingness to take part in a variety of kitchen tasks when needed. Considered an advantage: - Experience in a hotel restaurant or a busy seasonal operation - Culinary training or relevant hospitality education - Experience working with international guests and various service styles - A valid Category B driving license and access to your own car, as the hotel is located on top of Kaunispää fell.
