We are looking for a temporary early childhood education child caregiver for Ajurinmäen Daycare Center, Maahisiin, for the group of children aged 2–5. We operate a four-group daycare: three early childhood groups and one pre-kindergarten group. Ajurinmäen Daycare is located along good transport routes; the surrounding area offers diverse opportunities to expand the learning environment into physical activity and cultural services, and the forest starts right behind the yard. Our own yard enables varied outdoor activities, and in August you can help bake apple pies with the children. At Ajurinmäki we travel often to the local surroundings, and occasionally to other parts of the Helsinki region. Work at Ajurinmäki is performed with commitment, assessment, development and enthusiasm. Our strengths include cross-group functional cooperation, small-group activities and full-day pedagogy. Our staff unite strong professionalism with understanding of the meaningfulness of early childhood education. It is important for us that coming to work is enjoyable, work gives more than it takes, and your work is valued. Core values include common sense and collaboration. If you also want to work in a community that reflects these themes, we want to hear from you soon. The pedagogical focus areas are: inclusive early childhood education, child participation, language development support, joy of learning and discovery, support for play and social skills, and finding joy in movement. As a child caregiver you will, with your team, take care of children’s well-being, safety and smooth daily routines. A key part of the job is sensitive interaction, warm approach and noticing each child’s individual needs. In collaboration with other early childhood educators you ensure that pedagogical activities are planned, diverse and supportive of the child’s development. In this job you will support the growth of small children through play, movement and everyday discoveries, and participate in excursions and small-group activities. The workplace name and address: Ajurinmäen päiväkoti, Porarinkatu 9, 02650 Espoo. Working hours: 38 h 15 min/week. The position is temporary for 7.9.2026–9.5.2027. We will consider all applications received during the application period. Interview scheduling is from 17.8.–1.9.2026 during 08:00–10:00 and 14:40–17:00. A candidate invited for an interview may book a suitable time from the provided options. Eligibility: according to the Varhaiskasvatuslaki (540/2018, 28 § asetus 753/2018 3 § and 4 §). The required qualification is a qualifying degree in early childhood education and guidance or social and health care base degree, or other equivalent degree including broad study modules in child care, education and teaching (e.g. child caregiver, day care worker, and practical nurse). We require proficiency in Finnish in spoken and written forms. The person selected for the position must present a criminal background check. Tuberculosis screening is required for those working with under-6s. We value the ability to meet children and their parents with respect and sensitivity. We also value good teamwork and enthusiasm to develop our day care. Previous experience in early childhood education is an advantage.
