Job Description

The position is for a special education class teacher in a comprehensive school. We are now seeking an enthusiastic and skilled special education class teacher for primary school to join our team. Kaitaan School is a unified basic education school with approximately 720 students from Pre-school to 9th grade. Our school offers specialized art education as well as preparatory and group-based immigrant education. Our school is part of the UNESCO school network, which emphasizes global citizenship and sustainable future. A unique feature of our school is the use of animal-assisted pedagogy as part of learning. The upper school is located at Iivisniementie 1, and the primary school at Arttelikuja 4 in Hyljelahden. The school is led by the principal, deputy principal, administrative teachers, and leadership teams working collaboratively. Our strengths include good transportation links along the metro, school dogs, and annually visiting horses that bring joy and foster a positive atmosphere. Salary: According to OVTES. The base salary depends on the individual's education, with additional pay based on job complexity. The base salaries according to the pricing unit can be found at https://www.kt.fi/sopimukset/ovtes/palkat-palkkiot. If no suitable candidates meet the requirements, the position may be filled temporarily. Applications received in this process may be considered. Qualifications: Qualification as a special education class teacher. Teacher qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel no 986/98. According to section 9 of the decree, a primary education teacher must have excellent oral and written skills in Finnish. In temporary positions, we also consider non-qualified applicants. The position requires excellent classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate instruction. Applicants must present a criminal record extract as per section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act.
