Job Description As an MV Switchgear Designer, you will be responsible for the electrical and functional application design of medium-voltage switchgears based on customer requirements. The role combines technical design, project management, and practical production support. You will prepare electrical drawings and other project documentation, manage materials, and work closely with mechanical design, procurement, and product managers. In this role, you will put your designs into practice by supporting production and solving technical challenges during the construction and expansion of switchgears. Projects range from small modification works and expansions of existing switchgears to large international delivery projects. The work is not just about repeating standard solutions, but you will also design and customize technical solutions for customers' individual needs. The position requires weekly presence at the Vaasa office. Responsibilities - Creating part lists for MV switchgears in the SAP system using Excel - Designing and modifying primary and secondary circuit diagrams using Eplan software - Preparing project-specific work instructions for production use - Technical support and problem solving during the production phase - Close cooperation with mechanical design, procurement, and product managers We Are Looking For - Suitable educational background (e.g., electrical power engineering) - Proficiency in Eplan software or a similar design tool - Component-level understanding of current and voltage transformers as well as protection relays - Ability to read and modify circuit diagrams - Fluent skills in Finnish and English; knowledge of Swedish is considered an advantage - Good Excel skills We Value - Knowledge of Strömberg MH switchgear and older switchgears - Previous experience with the SAP system To succeed in the role, you are: - Development-oriented and solution-focused - Collaborative and able to communicate smoothly with different stakeholders - Willing to develop in electrical design Recruitment Process Academic Work handles this search on behalf of its client, who requests that all questions regarding the position be directed to Academic Work.
