Class Teacher

The City of Vantaa is seeking a Class Teacher to serve as a music class teacher at Martinlaakso School. Martinlaakso School is a comprehensive school for grades 1-9 with approximately 1,000 students and 130 staff members. The school operates in a modern building with up-to-date teaching equipment and a diverse surrounding environment that supports learning and movement. The school aims to be a pedagogically unified comprehensive school where learners of different ages meet, and teachers collaborate to ensure a seamless educational path from the first grade to the end of basic education. The school follows the ProKoulu operating model, which emphasizes common goals and methods for guiding student behavior through positive feedback. The selected candidate must commit to this educational model. Key expectations include the ability to design and implement differentiated instruction for learners of various levels, mastery of diverse teaching methods, and multicultural sensitivity to support students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including an understanding of S2 (Finnish as a second language) instruction needs. Strong interaction and collaboration skills are required to build trusting relationships with students and guardians and to work actively within a team. The role requires a holistic approach to supporting student well-being and a flexible, solution-oriented attitude toward changing situations.
