About the role

Come to our team at the Vaahterakangas child welfare unit in Iisalmi! We are looking for an instructor to implement safe and high-quality child welfare work with us! A common descriptive factor for Humana's child welfare services is customer-centricity. We believe that the challenges of every family and child can be solved with timely and appropriate support, care, and education. Responsibility, humanity, and respect for individuality are emphasized in our activities. Every employee of ours is a well-being influencer and a grower of life value. What kind of work awaits you? Work is a substitute position, called in as needed. Work is done in three shifts, but the work focuses on morning and evening shifts. The start of work will be agreed upon with you. In addition, we strive to take into account each person's own special areas of expertise and motivation factors. As an instructor, you support and encourage children and young people in everyday challenges and participate in the evaluation of the young person's care and education. The starting point of the work is listening to the customer, respectful treatment, and supporting participation. Work is always done in close cooperation with guardians, the local network, school services, and social authorities. Within our unit, we also implement multidisciplinary dialogue and systematically utilize the expertise of each educational field in the care process. In autumn 2023, we expanded our operations by opening a new special-level intensive support child welfare unit near the center of Iisalmi, with good transport links. The Vaahterakangas child welfare unit has two 7-place residential units offering a home-like and safe growth environment for children in need of child welfare placement. The unit's premises are log-structured and designed specifically for this activity, so the working environment is sensory-friendly, ergonomic, and allergy-free. Here, physical structures support work well-being and the implementation of high-quality child welfare work. What kind of colleague are we looking for? We expect from you a suitable basic degree in the social, health, or education field (e.g., practical nurse) or a UAS degree in the social and health field (social worker, nurse, community pedagogue). We expect you to have previous experience working with children and young people, especially experience in child welfare work and/or psychiatric nursing for children and young people. In addition, we value meeting skills, empathy, cooperation skills, and a flexible approach to work. We value open-mindedness and enthusiasm for the constantly evolving field of child welfare. We hope you have good organizing, cooperation, and interaction skills, as well as a positive, encouraging, and flexible approach to work. Please note that the person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract required for those working with children in accordance with Section 6(2) of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993). Interested? Next, we want to hear from you! Seize the opportunity and send your application by August 28, 2026. We process applications during the application period. For more information about the position, unit manager Eveliina Hassinen can provide information on weekdays from 8-16 at 040 680 1922 or eveliina.hassinen@humana.fi. Please note that for security reasons, we do not accept applications by email. Submit your application directly through our application link.
