The municipality of Sodankylä is seeking a fixed-term resource teacher for basic education for the period 1.9.2026–31.7.2027. The position is based at Tähtikunta School in the center of Sodankylä and Järvikylien School in Syväjärvi. Tähtikunta School is a comprehensive school for approximately 600 students commissioned in 2022, and Järvikylien School teaches grades 0-2. Job duties Duties include: · Resource teacher duties at Tähtikunta School · Classroom teaching one day a week at Järvikylien School · Collaboration with colleagues · Participation in a well-being supporting operational culture and the development of the unit Expectations Applicants are required to have: · Eligibility in accordance with Decree 986/1998 · Ability to work independently · Up-to-date ICT skills and organizational ability · Good interaction and collaboration skills · Readiness for co-teaching and teamwork in a comprehensive school · A development-oriented and professional approach to work · Good oral and written skills in Finnish We also value: · Pedagogical courage and an open attitude · Ability to operate in changing and diverse situations · Versatile professional skills What we offer In Sodankylä, you will do meaningful work in a caring community. The position includes a 4-month probationary period. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 before the selection is confirmed.
