We are building a new experiential service unit in Ruka Valley and will offer guided outdoor experiences in addition to our existing outdoor and skiing products. On the first season we will operate electric snowmobile safaris, snowshoe and ice fishing trips, northern lights tours and electric fatbike trips. As Head Guide you will be responsible for the smooth daily programme operations, supporting guides, and ensuring safe and high‑quality delivery of services. This is a unique opportunity to help build the new operation from the ground up and ensure our guests have unforgettable experiences in the Ruka landscape. Lead guide tasks include supporting guides and acting as the on‑site operations lead, ensuring programs are delivered safely and with high quality, helping onboard and develop new guides, monitoring equipment and gear condition and reporting improvements, handling provisioning and logistics for supplies and fuel, actively participating as a guide in various programs, and contributing to process improvements and new service development. We expect: experience with operational work in program or experiential services (experience with snowmobile trips is a plus); experience as guide or team‑lead; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt to changing situations and make decisions under pressure; interest in supporting and developing staff; fluent English (other languages are a plus); first aid skills (EA2 or equivalent); and a B driving license. It is also valued to have training in outdoor, wilderness or sports disciplines, knowledge of multiple activity areas within experiential services, safety expertise, and international travel experience.
