Job Description

Would you like to build a new restaurant kitchen from scratch and lead a team where quality, smooth operations, and a positive work environment go hand in hand? You will create efficient daily routines, clear procedures, and a strong team culture from the start. We are looking for a motivated, creative, and experienced kitchen manager for a permanent full-time position at Ståhlberg. The new restaurant will open in August 2026 in the Tulli district of Tampere. As a kitchen manager, you will oversee the entire kitchen strategically and operationally, ensuring quality in all activities. You will be responsible for staff, procurement, and menus in collaboration with the restaurant manager and the kitchen shift supervisor. Work tasks: - Overall responsibility for the kitchen’s daily and long-term operations - Food preparation and plating together with the team - Menu planning and quality assurance - Ordering supplies and raw materials, inventory management - Shift planning with the restaurant manager - Hygiene, safety, and self-monitoring - Developing kitchen procedures and practices for the new unit The restaurant is open every day, and the work is primarily daytime, but may include occasional evening shifts as needed. We expect from you: - Previous strong experience in similar roles - Experience in preparing buffet lunch dishes - Reliability and a solution-oriented approach - Understanding of recipes, portion costs, waste management, and kitchen budgeting and results - Strong communication and leadership skills - Hygiene passport - Fluent Finnish language skills Knowledge of the Resolution cash register system and MaraPlan shift planning software is an advantage.
