Job Description
Are you interested in a job where you can support clients' daily lives and well-being in a genuinely present and professional work community? We are seeking an instructor for a permanent position in 24-hour residential disability services at the Pyhämäentie residential unit in Turenki, Janakkala. The work consists of meaningful care, nursing, and guidance work with clients. As an instructor, you will play a key role in supporting the smoothness, safety, and inclusion of clients' daily lives. Clients have diverse support needs related to, for example, intellectual disabilities, the autism spectrum, as well as health and mental health challenges. The work requires a calm, competent, and present approach. Responsibilities include assisting clients in daily activities (e.g., personal hygiene, dining, and medication) and supporting them in interaction and everyday situations. The work strengthens clients' functional capacity, independence, and inclusion, and enables participation in daily life and leisure activities. The instructor participates in the implementation of individual care and guidance plans as part of a multidisciplinary team. The work is three-shift work. The position requires appropriate education in the social and health care sector (e.g., practical nurse), registration in the central register of social and health care professionals, and an interest in client work within disability services. We expect good interaction and cooperation skills, as well as a responsible and professional approach. Experience in demanding client work and knowledge of speech-supporting and alternative communication methods are valued, but a motivated and respectful attitude toward the client is most important. You will need medication permits (LOVe), which you can complete with us at the start of employment if necessary. Those working with the elderly and disabled must present a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6.4 of the Criminal Records Act, in accordance with Section 28.1 of the Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care (741/2023). We offer you a permanent employment contract in meaningful work, as well as a good orientation and support from the work community. You will work in a competent and development-oriented team where daily tasks are handled together. Work shift planning takes into account the reconciliation of work and other life aspects as far as possible. The workplace is located along good transport links in Turenki. Interviews may begin during the application period, and the position will be filled once a suitable person is found. The position-specific salary is €2,700.73 per month, in addition to which an experience-based supplement (3-8%) is paid. Working hours are 38.25 hours per week. The terms of employment are determined by the SOTE agreement, and a six-month probationary period applies to the duties. Immediate patient and client work requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis clearance of the respiratory organs according to Section 55. Registration in the central register of social and health care professionals is required. Oma Häme is a smoke-free organization.
