Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer in Hämeenlinna to join Patria's software team consisting of about 10 top experts. In your position, you will work with various Linux-based vehicle software as part of our professional team. In Patria's software development projects, you will influence the entire development cycle – you will not only implement ready requirement specifications, but also participate in: - refining requirement specifications into implementable entities - actual software design - documentation of outputs - software testing - improving development processes and operating methods We work mainly in product development according to the Scrum framework. Projects are long-term and implemented in close cooperation with the customer and internal stakeholders, which provides an excellent opportunity to develop deep system expertise. You will be able to bring a software development perspective to product design and take ownership. What kind of expert are we looking for? We are looking for a software developer who already has experience from demanding software development projects and a good understanding of the implementation techniques of Linux-based systems. The software under our team's responsibility is mainly implemented: - with C++ using Qt tools - user interfaces with QML We hope for about 5 years of experience in software development, so that you can take responsibility for entities and also work independently. You are motivated by: - grasping the big picture - active participation in project work as part of a multidisciplinary team - developing an existing software asset - code base refactoring and architecture-based thinking We expect from you: - Good C++ and QML skills - Experience in Qt software development - A genuine desire to learn new things - Good teamwork skills - Fluent Finnish and English language skills (written and oral) - Appropriate technical education Considered an advantage: - Knowledge of CAN buses, especially J1939 - Previous experience with DDS interfaces - Mastery of Git version control What we offer At Patria, you get to do things that you can't even see elsewhere.
