You will work as a psychological expert in a multidisciplinary team within demanding disability services. The team includes a physician, speech therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, neuropsychiatric guide, music therapist, and social worker. Your duties include psychological assessments, examinations, and reports, as well as the planning and monitoring of rehabilitation. You will conduct supportive discussions with clients and their loved ones and provide guidance and counseling to the networks operating around the client. The position also includes tasks related to self-determination and restrictive measures, and you will be part of the units' multidisciplinary teams regarding these issues in disability services. Additionally, you will participate in the planning and lecturing of continuing education for professionals in the field. The Expert and Development Center serves all of Swedish-speaking Finland, which means the work may involve travel. A company car is available. The center is located in the scenic Kirjala in Parais. Operations include expert services, an 11-place crisis, research, and rehabilitation unit, and a 7-place special support housing unit, Kojan. Clients come from across the Swedish-speaking region of Finland, and you will also collaborate with Finnish-speaking colleagues in similar operations in Paimio. The workspaces are relatively new, completed in 2019. The area has good bus connections and a large free parking area. We offer continuing education opportunities, supervision, and a team with a good spirit of cooperation. What we expect from you We require good skills in Swedish and Finnish. You must be able to express yourself fluently in Swedish both orally and in writing. Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric disorders, and psychiatric challenges, as well as experience working in multidisciplinary teams and a willingness to travel in the Swedish-speaking region of Finland, are considered an advantage. The eligibility requirement is the legal certification of a psychologist in accordance with the Act on Health Care Professionals.
