About the role

The family social work team is responsible for client relationships under the Social Welfare Act for families with children in the East Uusimaa wellbeing services county. As a social guidance counselor, you will act as the primary caseworker for children in need of services according to the Social Welfare Act and organize the necessary services for the child and family. In the eastern region, there is an office at the Loviisa social and health center. Work is also carried out at other wellbeing services county offices and in the families' own environments in cooperation with family networks, other authorities, and the third sector. The work is fast-paced and varied, yet interesting and appropriately challenging. Good organizational and interaction skills are beneficial for this role. We also value a responsible work approach, customer-oriented thinking, and good readiness for multidisciplinary work. East Uusimaa wellbeing services county offers you the opportunity to participate in developing impactful and customer-oriented social work. We also offer the possibility of remote work by agreement. A driver's license is necessary for the service need assessment task, as the work requires travel throughout the wellbeing services county. Eligibility requirements include a Bachelor of Social Services (Sosionomi) qualification in accordance with Section 8 of the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015) and registration in the register of social and health care professionals (JulkiSuosikki). We require good oral skills in both national languages and good written skills in one of the national languages. We also require good cooperation skills and suitability for the position. Experience in social work with families and child welfare is considered an advantage. Training and experience in the systemic operating model are also considered an advantage. Terms of employment are determined by the general SOTE agreement. Working hours are 38.25 h/week. The position-specific salary is €3,213.82/month. The probationary period is five months. Selection is conditional until the selected person has presented an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the tasks associated with the work within one month of starting work. Before accepting the position, the selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). The position requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate as required by Section 55.
