Betolar Plc – Espoo / Hybrid Betolar is a circular economy and materials technology company that transforms industrial sidestreams into valuable resources. We have developed proprietary Metal Extraction Technology (MET) enabling the efficient recovery of critical and strategic metals from industrial waste streams and mine tailings, with the remaining process material utilized as circular cement. In addition, Betolar provides solutions for critical infrastructure protection (CIP) designed to protect critical infrastructure from various threats. The company has a strong and expanding patent portfolio supporting its proprietary technologies. Betolar is listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Helsinki, and its shares are also traded in the United States on the OTCQX International market. We are now looking for a business-oriented and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to lead the company’s legal function and support its strategic growth. The Role As Senior Legal Counsel, you will serve as the company’s legal advisor and a key partner to the Management Team and the Board of Directors. You will oversee all legal matters across the organization, ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and safeguarding the company’s interests. Key Responsibilities - Act as the primary legal advisor to executive management and the Board of Directors - Ensure compliance with securities market regulations (including MAR and disclosure obligations) - Lead contract-related matters, including negotiation, drafting, and template development - Manage company's IPR portfolio - Support the business and growth initiatives across all legal topics and act as a key interface to external counsel - Participate in and lead legal aspects of M&A and financing transactions - Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, policies, and governance structures - Deliver legal training and raise awareness of regulatory and compliance topics across the organization - Possibility to work as a secretary of the Board of Directors - Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned What You Bring - Master of Laws (LL.M. or equivalent) - Solid experience from 5 to 7 years in a senior legal role, either in-house or a law firm - Strong expertise in core areas of business law, including IPR, corporate governance, negotiations and contracts - M&A experience in listed company environment - Business-oriented mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic, solution-driven advice - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. - Experience in an international business environment and multi-stakeholder collaboration - Excellent communication skills in English and in Finnish Experience in environmental law is considered an asset.
