About the role

The City of Salo's land use services are seeking an Urban Planner for a permanent position. Land use services are responsible for ensuring the vital urban development of the City of Salo. The detailed planning unit handles the preparation of various levels of plans and land use development projects, as well as supporting the city's strategy in housing and land policy. The key tasks of the Urban Planner are: - detailed planning, managing planning projects - participating in master planning - developing the cityscape and other built environments - preparing deviation decisions and providing building permit opinions - preparing land use agreements - customer service and stakeholder cooperation We are a reliable and stable employer. Eligibility requirement is a suitable university degree, including a sufficient amount of studies related to urban planning. We require 1-3 years of experience in urban planning, the basics of zoning, and land use and building legislation. Proficiency in industry-specific software and geographic information systems (GIS), as well as fluent oral and good written communication skills in Finnish, are considered an advantage. We value an independent working style, the ability for project management and teamwork, as well as good cooperation, negotiation, and customer service skills. Remuneration is according to the technical agreement. The position-specific salary is €3,624.31/month. In addition to the position-specific salary, an experience-based supplement may be paid according to the official and collective agreement, as well as a personal salary increase to be evaluated after six (6) months. Work begins as agreed. A six (6) month probationary period applies to the employment relationship, provided the conditions of the official and collective agreement are met.
