The Malva Museum of Visual Arts in Lahti opened to the public at the end of April 2022. Our unique art, poster, and design content provides experiences and activities for heavy culture consumers, families with children, and first-timers alike. Malva is part of the Lahti Museums, which also include the Ski Museum, the Lahti Historical Museum, and the Mastola Radio and TV Museum. Lahti Museums is the regional responsible museum for the Päijät-Häme region. Lahti Museums was the Museum of the Year 2025. In 2026, Malva was nominated for European Museum of the Year and received The Museum Prize for Environmental Sustainability awarded by the European Museum Forum. As a Designer, you will be responsible for the digital solutions of Malva's exhibitions, other spaces, and events. Implementations are mainly multi-channel AV complexes where image, sound, light, and space combine as part of artistic entities. The work includes planning and tendering for equipment procurement, practical implementation of installations, and ensuring the functionality of technical systems throughout their lifecycle. The core of the work is creating good customer experiences and aligning artistic content with technical requirements and possibilities. The workplace is located in the exhibition unit of Lahti Museums, where you will work with 14 other exhibition professionals and collaborate closely with the staff of Malva and all Lahti Museums. You will work in multidisciplinary, multi-site, and often international cooperation with artists, curators, exhibition designers, technical experts, and museum professionals. Good English language skills are a requirement for success in the job, and other language skills are considered an advantage. We hope to find a person for our work community with whom work flows smoothly and things progress. Interest in contemporary art and experience in art museum work are absolute advantages! We expect you to be able to handle the following tasks and software: - Planning, maintenance, service, and lifecycle management of presentation technology equipment, rigging, cabling, and software (Mac and Windows, Qlab, Qsys, VLC, Touchdesigner, Millum, Brightsign, iDiD, Dante, iOS, Android; Extron, Crestron, and Vioso devices and software are also in use) - Telecommunications: Use of AV over IP possibilities, switches in the local area network, network traffic openings (via the City of Lahti ICT), wireless access points, wireless content management (Brightsign), understanding of data protection and security, remote control software (TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Apple screen sharing etc.; not mandatory, but improves quality, eases installation, and speeds up maintenance) - Planning and technical documentation: at least at the wireframe level, 3D and illustrative images improve planning, rigging plans for installation, UI/UX from the perspective of customers and museum staff - Orientation of customer service and conversation guides for the daily use of exhibition technology (guidance and written instructions) - Consideration of building services, possible new electrical and data cabling work (monitoring, ordering, and supervision) - Collection work: Maintenance of the technology of public artworks (Maarten Baas: Sweepers Clock), Ekho Collective: Ahto, other possible video or projector works - Maintenance of brand material for the facade LED screens and the lobby video wall: editing Adobe After Effects templates and publishing via the iDiD content management system - Video and photography: interviews, marketing and campaign material, social media material, drone photography as needed - Editing of communication and exhibition content: Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Audition, Media Encoder etc.) - Website super-user support (Wordpress), domain management (OVHcloud) - Cooperation with the collection, research, and audience work unit for video and photography needs and content (e.g., public art, Päheets museums, Extremely Secret, Art Testers, Malva of Possibilities etc.) - Event presentation technology: Kumma workshop space projector + speakers + control system as well as Clevertouch touchscreens maintenance and guidance, other event technology e.g., facade LED screens in presenting media art (content management iDiD, Resolume Arena etc.) - Multi-camera streaming: camera (Sony and Canon) and streaming equipment (Blackmagic), software (OBS, Youtube, Meta, Teams and Zoom) The position has a six-month probationary period. Requirements
- Good English language skills

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Audition, Media Encoder)
- Experience with website super-user support (Wordpress) and domain management (OVHcloud)
- Ability to handle multi-camera streaming equipment and software (Blackmagic, OBS, etc.)
- Interest in contemporary art and experience in art museum work (advantage)
