Job Description
Primary location: KUUSAMO We are looking for sales assistants for Koillismaan Osuuskauppa's personnel pool, known as the Savotta Team. In a 'savotta' (traditional joint venture), no one succeeds alone – the best results are achieved through cooperation. That is why the spirit of the savotta guides our daily lives here in Koillismaa: we help each other across site boundaries, take bold action, and ensure that both colleagues and customers can trust that help is available when needed. To meet this need, we are building the Savotta Team – a personnel pool whose members ensure that help is always close by. We are looking for bold doers – 'Savottalaiset' – who are ready to do truly meaningful work at several locations within their own savotta area. Locations include our cooperative's Sale, S-market, Prisma, and ABC stores. The Savotta Team operates in three areas: East Lapland area (Kemijärvi – Salla – Savukoski), Ruka-Kuusamo area, and Taivalkoski – Posio area. The work requires the ability to move between locations in your own savotta area by car or other reliable means of transport. The weekly working hours in the employment contract are 10–25 hours, and shifts are planned according to labor needs. Work begins according to the agreement during August–September. The contract is fixed-term. As a Savottalainen, no two workdays are the same. One day you might start your shift at Prisma with shelving and customer service, the following week support a Sale store during seasonal rush, and a month later help at an ABC during peak hours. What is the work of a Savottalainen? As a Savottalainen, you work where your expertise is needed at that moment. Your workdays may be located at different sites in your area, for example: - to support sudden sick leave absences - as substitutes for annual leave - during seasonal peaks - to strengthen new teams and locations Every savotta shift is an opportunity to help the work community succeed and ensure that our customers always receive the best possible service. Shifts are mainly planned in advance, but some shifts may be offered on shorter notice, for example, due to sudden absences. Who is this job for? For you who: - enjoy varied workdays - are excited by new people and work communities - learn new ways of operating quickly - act independently and flexibly - want to develop into a multi-skilled professional - are ready to move between locations in your savotta area Previous experience in the retail sector is an advantage, but we provide thorough induction for the role. You will receive orientation for the locations and tasks where you work. We offer you: - versatile work at different locations - comprehensive induction and continuous support - the opportunity to develop your skills broadly - S Group's excellent employee benefits - Salary according to the retail sector's collective agreement (TES) and the possibility of performance-based bonuses Why the Savotta Team? In the Savotta Team, you don't work at just one location – you get to know our entire cooperative and build a wide network in different work communities. The Savotta Team keeps everyday life moving. Savottalaiset go where their expertise has the greatest impact at that moment, ensuring that our customers receive quality service even in changing situations. As a Savottalainen, you operate in different locations, get to know new work communities, and share your own expertise while gaining experience from various work environments. The work offers variety, continuous learning, and the opportunity to develop your professional skills diversely. Working in the Savotta Team also opens new perspectives on our organization and can provide valuable experiences and new career opportunities within our own cooperative. You are not alone in the Savotta Team – at every location, you are welcomed as part of the work community, and you are supported by both supervisors and colleagues. Are you the next Savottalainen? If you enjoy variety, want to learn new things, and do work that matters, the Savotta Team could be the place for you. Apply to help create a smooth everyday life together – one savotta shift at a time. Applications are open until 23.8.2026. We process applications during the application period, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
