Social Worker

We are seeking a permanent social worker to join the HUS Helsinki University Hospital’s Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation unit in Espoo. The position is located at Jorvi Hospital in Espoo. The social worker will work in the Health Social Work unit within the Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation multidisciplinary team, as an independent specialist. Duties include assessing the patient’s life situation and guiding them to appropriate services. The work does not involve making official decisions. The unit provides services across multiple facilities for various medical specialties (e.g., internal medicine, neurology, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology). Our team includes a chief social worker, eight senior social workers and about 70 social workers. In the joint social work team at Jorvi, Lohja and Raasepori hospitals there are 13 other social workers in addition to the senior social worker. We value proficiency in both national languages, strong networking and collaboration skills, good communication skills, broad experience in social work, and mastery of the social security system. Prior experience in health and social care is advantageous. The job is varied and requires a flexible and proactive attitude, with readiness to take initiative and handle pressure.
